The filmmaker Eliseo Subiela died



The morning of this Sunday died in San Isidro the film director Eliseo Subiela, at 71, his remains were veiled at the request of his family for only one hour Monday at the cemetery Garden of Peace, in the town of Buenos Aires Pilar. The film director had suffered a heart attack three months ago and was still working on a new movie whose tentative name is "thin cut."



He was a teacher, scriptwriter and film director, made his debut with the film "The Conquest of Paradise" (1980), and rose to fame with "Hombre Mirando al Sudeste" (1986), which transcended borders. Later he directed "Last images of the shipwreck" (1989) and "The dark side of the heart" (1992).

His filmography includes:

 "Little Miracles" (1997)

 "Despierta you love" (1996)

"Do not die without telling me where you're going" (1995)


Subiela introduced in his films the fantasy and science fiction like elements.

Throughout his career, he adapted to the different formats of the cinema, which led him to make films in digital format.

Subiela also worked in television series for Channel A and with telefilms like:

"What a laugh death" (2002)

"The Fate of Angelica" (2002)

"Carnal Relations" (2002)

"Angel" (2002)




The death of Subiela was confirmed by the director Gabriel Arbós, director of the Argentins Director's Cinematografic Association (Dac).

"He was in life a great film director and a great teacher. His films will keep him alive forever, "Arbós said.

The director had three children: Guadalupe, Eliseo and Santiago.
